Daily Cocaine: Miami's Biscayne Boulevard Battles...

I gotta get on those $8/lb stone crabs. Have had the ceviche over at the Green Market a few times. Why would anyone in that neighborhood not want the Green Market around? Like roaming crackheads and pimps are any better...

Living right around the corner, I'm thrilled about the Vagabond. Any word on those $10 grass-fed steaks? I've only picked up some bok choy thus far. I heard one of the tenters from the first week who was selling earrings and clothing is no longer welcome. I have to followup on why though.

Wessel have any Yellow Light creations yet?

I don't understand why neighborhoods would resist farmers' markets. "Fresh produce and homemade ice cream? Not in my backyard!"

Well there are always the concerns about parking-but I think there's enough to go around-sometime those complaints are used as a smokescreen for other issues. But $8/lb stone crab claws, and up the street, grass-fed steaks? That is a win-win.

Haven't tried the steaks yet. Although the plan (which I think is a great one) is to not only sell the raw steaks, but then actually have a chef cooking them right there for you. Which brings me to the great new feature that Vagabond market will have-a 'demonstration' kitchen.

Looks like he's also putting a small "herbfarm" in back for some home-grown.

I like the idea of the place, but have some concerns about the execution. I don't understand why the don't figure out a layout where they can actually use the hotel's parking lot for parking, instead of people having to park along the side streets. I'm also quite bummed that he decided to change the hotel sign, which was just completely unnecessary.

I agree the sign should be replaced-Silverman claims he has plans to do just that. It was the best thing about the place. As for the motel parking, I guess they are trying to fit in more vendors out there. I agree he should find a way to provide some parking as soon as possible. Personally, I bike over. But it's hard to buy ice cream when you are on a bike.
